It’s time for Summer Reading at Prescott Public Library! Summer Reading is for readers of all ages– with programs for Pre-K (ages 0-4), Kids (ages 5-11), Teens (ages 12-18), and Adults (ages 19+). This year’s Summer Reading theme is Oceans of Possibilities!

THREE WAYS TO PARTICIPATE– Choose one!

Beginning May 16:

  • Sign up at the Youth Desk or Ask A Librarian Desk and receive a paper reading log to track your minutes
  • Sign up and log your minutes online at ppl.azsummerreading.org
  • Download the READsquared app from your device’s app store, create an account, and log your minutes in the app

Read, Track Your Minutes, and Earn Prizes!

  • Kids (ages 0-11): Earn one coin for every 200 minutes you read or listen to someone read. Board books, picture books, chapter books, audiobooks, magazines… it all counts! Whether you log your minutes on paper, online, or through the READSquared app, you will receive one coin for every 200 minutes you read. Redeem your coins for fun prizes at the Youth Desk on the 1st floor.
    Note: July 23 is the last day to log minutes and earn coins. All coins must be redeemed by Sunday, July 31.
  • Teens (ages 12-18): Earn one coin for every 300 minutes you read or listen to someone read. Books, audiobooks, magazines… it all counts! Whether you log your minutes on paper, online, or through the READSquared app, you will receive one coin for every 300 minutes you read. Redeem your coins for fun prizes at the Youth Desk on the 1st floor.
    Note: July 23 is the last day to log minutes and earn coins. All coins must be redeemed by Sunday, July 31.
  • Adults (ages 19+): For every 200 minutes of reading activity you log, you are automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card! Two gift cards will be awarded each week.

Special Events & Activities for Youth

From storytimes to book clubs to live entertainment, our Youth librarians have lots of reading fun planned this summer. Check our online events calendar for the full lineup. Highlights include:

  • Wildman Phil on Thursday, July 21 at 10 am & 1 pm
  • Summer Reading Finale on Saturday, July 23 at 11 am
  • Crafts for Kids on Tuesday, July 26 at 1 pm
  • Pajama Storytime on Thursday, July 27 at 6:30 pm
