
Summer Reading at Prescott Public Library is here! This year’s Summer Reading theme is Color Our World. Read on to learn more about our reading challenges and how to participate as well as all the FREE, fun things happening this summer at Prescott Public Library!
Three Ways to Participate– Choose one!
- Sign up at the Youth Desk and receive a paper reading log to track your reading activity. Adults may sign up at the Ask a Librarian desk to receive a paper reading log.
- Create a Beanstack account, join a Summer Reading 2025 challenge for your age group, and log your reading activity online
- Download the Beanstack app from your device’s app store, create an account, join a Summer Reading 2025 challenge for your age group, and log your reading activity in the app
Summer Reading for Youth (ages 0-18)
Youth Summer Reading includes reading challenges for Pre-K (ages 0-4), Kids (ages 5-11), Teens (ages 12-18)! From May 22 – July 26, youth can sign up and log their reading activity to earn prizes!
**Please note: Youth prizes can be redeemed at the Youth Desk beginning Monday, June 2. All youth prizes must be collected by Sunday, August 3.
Summer Reading for Adults (ages 19+)
Summer Reading is not just for youth! Adults ages 19 and up can also sign up and log the number of minutes they read. Adults with 200 minutes or more logged each week will earn an entry into a weekly drawing for a number of prizes. All participants who read at least 200 minutes over the course of the program will earn an entry into a grand prize drawing that will take place on July 29.
**Please note: Adult prizes must be claimed at the Ask a Librarian Desk. All adult prizes must be collected by Friday, August 15.
Special Events & Activities for Youth
From weekly storytimes and crafts to LEGOs and live entertainment, our Youth librarians have lots of reading fun planned this summer! Check our online events calendar for the full lineup. Some highlights include:
- Crafts for Kids on Tuesdays at 2 pm (June 3, 10, 17, 24; July 1, 8, 15, 22)
- Battle of the Books Info Meeting on Wednesday, May 28 at 4 pm
- Tie Dye Time on Wednesday, June 4 at 2 pm
- Magic with Eric Giliam on Thursday, June 5 at 10 am & 2 pm
- Drama-Rama on Wednesday, June 18 at 1 pm & 3 pm
- Animal Encounters with Jungle Jill on Thursday, June 19 at 10 am & 2 pm
- Dinosaur Encounter on Thursday, June 26 at 10 am
- Family BINGO on Thursday, July 3 at 10 am & 2 pm
- Community Helpers at the Library on Wednesday, July 9 at 10 am
- Taiko Drumming with Eileen Morgan on Thursday, July 10 at 10 am & 2 pm
- Battle of the Books Final Battle on Wednesday, July 23 at 6 pm
- BubbleManiacs on Saturday, July 26 at 11 am
