Celebrate National Library Week, April 19-25 with us at Prescott Public Library. The theme this year really fits the feeling of spring: Find Your Joy at the Library! Joy isn’t one-size-fits-all. For some, it’s losing track of time in a stack of graphic novels. For others, it’s the spark of confidence from a polished résumé, the excitement of a storytime with their child, or the simple relief of having free Wi-Fi when it’s needed most. Whatever joy looks like to you, you’ll find it at the library. No barriers, no cover charge, no secret password. Just walk in.
Throughout the month of April, youth can participate in an America250 Youth Library Bingo, and during National Library Week, everyone can visit the Youth Services department to vote for their favorite entries in the America250 Bookmark Contest. Winners will be announced April 30, then the winning bookmarks will be available to take home.
To add to the celebration, library staff are getting outdoors to come to you! Help us kick off National Library week and celebrate Earth Day at the Earth Day Celebration and Wildfire Expo Saturday, April 18 from 9 am to 2 pm behind Courthouse Plaza. Then join us at the Prescott Farmer’s Market on Saturday, April 25 from 7:30 am to noon, where special guest, Mouse, from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, will be handing out free books to kids from 9-11 am, and adults can pick up a free Crafts-to-Go kit while supplies last. At both events, library staff will be sharing information, issuing library cards, and giving out seed packets. Best of all, we will enjoy chatting with you. Mouse will also be making visits to our library Storytimes on April 21, 22, and 23 at 10 am.
