The AAC iPads are designed to support nonverbal individuals of all ages by offering powerful tools that help express thoughts, needs, and emotions: the TouchChat app and the LAMP Words for Life app. Whether someone is navigating speech challenges due to autism, stroke, or other conditions, these two apps include touch-based communication boards, customizable vocabulary options, and voice output features to support communication and connection. Things you should know:

• AAC iPads have been modified to support communication through the TouchChat and LAMP Words for Life apps. Access to other apps and to the App Store has been turned off.
• You must be 18 years or older with a valid library card from a Yavapai Library Network library and a government-issued photo ID to checkout an AAC iPad.
• Only one AAC iPad can be checked out per person.
• AAC iPads must be picked up and returned to the Youth Desk at Prescott Public Library.
• Items can be placed on hold.
• Overdue fees are $1 PER DAY.
• Items checkout for 3 weeks and can be renewed if there are no holds.
